Baby shopping

On Friday we went over to Fairview Heights to do some baby shopping! We went first to Target since it was only 9am when we got there after dropping Alex at school. We told them we wanted to register so they gave us a free sample bag with a bottle and pacifier 🙂 We walked around the store with the registry gun and scanned things we wanted to put on our list like strollers, carseats, cribs etc. They had the cutest bouncy chair with a monkey as the seat! An hour later we walked out of the store with our spoils: pumpkin spice M&Ms and Frankenberry cereal… oh, were we supposed to be buying baby stuff?

Then it was off to Babies ‘R’ Us for almost the express purpose of parking in the “Expectant Mothers” parking (hey, this is not going to happen very often in life!) But actually we were pleasantly surprised by the selection inside. Lots of cribs, bedding, strollers etc to look at. In particular we both liked the display crib in the pictures above, and I was inspired by the nautical theme of it- the mobile, blankets, and so forth. I don’t think we are going to end up getting this particular crib but getting the ideas for the theme was worth the trip alone!

After we were done shopping it was over to Panera for lunch (which here is called St. Louis Bread Company). It was completely packed. We had to wait for someone to leave to get a parking spot, and then a table to sit down. It was definitely a throwback to my Arlington days, where driving around waiting for parking was the norm!
